'97-'01 A.B. ’01; answering the call for teachers in the Philippines, in 1901 he was on board US Army Transporter “Thomas” which left San Francisco arriving in Manila nearly a month later; assigned to teach at Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Island of Luzon for 3 years. Desirous to travel the Suez Canal, he made his return trip a sightseeing adventure; contracted smallpox and died Bombay, India 1903, burial Bombay.
